CHOOSING THE PRIVATE ROUTE
Studying as private candidates for the 'O' or 'A' Level examinations may seem daunting to many. However, for these MDIS College students, their experiences proved otherwise.

Although it has been a short, fleeting 10-odd months, life in MDIS has been fraught with challenges and travails. Initially, I had this misconception that the quality of private school education might not be as comprehensive as a mainstream college's curriculum. However, after candid interaction with the teachers, followed by the incisive and intellectual lessons by the teachers, the wide range and depth of coverage of content taught was refreshing and comparable, if not better than a mainstream school.
Many had worked tirelessly throughout the entire programme, offering as many extraneous consultations whenever possible. In fact, the teachers had accentuated more heavily on the thought-processes and the undergirding principles of the subject, rather than emphasising on rote-learning per se, which I feel, had benefited my classmates and I invaluably. To future students who may worry about the calibre of teachers: Fret not, many are more than qualified and extremely adept in providing the added edge for enroling students.
The foreign environment that I was erstwhile exposed to had, not before long, turned into a place of conviviality and warmth. From the friends that came from all walks of life, to the especial administration staff who are extremely amiable and never failed to provide any form of assistance to aid a troubled student (kudos to them!), and the general cordiality of the populace had easily settled my disquiet heart. Adaptation had been relatively smooth right from inception!
To the disconcerted student: Brood-not, take the plunge, keep the faith and MDIS College would be just about the best place you can attempt your 'A' Levels at.

Attained 3 As and 2 Bs for Preparatory Course for GCE 'A' Level Examination
Having been thrown into the doldrums of life after my first but unfortunate 'A' Level examinations, a close pal of mine recommended MDIS College as a conducive platform for a sophomore attempt. I took the plunge, and found myself in the midst of similarly motivated course-mates from different walks of life, who possess an equal tenacity to right the wrong in our respective lives.
Classes began uneventfully and after the first week, I managed to get a glimpse of how lessons in MDIS College are conducted. Amid an initial flurry of confusion, I began to warm up to the presence of my teachers. Unlike the mainstream college that I hailed from, there was definitely an increase in the teacher-students interactions. This is partially attributed to the small classes, but I give my kudos to the teachers for their willingness to open up to the students. Keen educators as they are, the teachers are well-versed with strong content knowledge. In fact, they possess a slew of interesting perspectives that would definitely go a long way for students seeking a veritable college education.
The conducive study environment of MDIS Campus played a pivotal role in enticing me to enrol. With a plethora of both academic and peripheral facilities like a well-equipped Resource Hub and gym, I must say that MDIS College provides students with a holistic education. Cramming for the exams? Fret not, for MDIS Campus is dotted with study corners abound, with an air-conditioned study hub which is accessible for most parts of the day.
Last but not least, MDIS College is blessed with a wonderful team of administrative staff, who never fail do their utmost best to integrate the students into their new environment. Coupled with a dynamic mentor-guidance system, the administrative staff really put their soul into the College to serve as the in loco parentis for the students.
One can be down, but not out. To prove your naysayers wrong, I'd say MDIS College is a lethal weapon in your battle against the world of academia.

MDIS College gave me a chance to do my course within a year and the wonderful teachers aided me with all the necessary knowledge to get me through my course. Moreover I made very good friends who helped me with my workload and provided much needed moral support. MDIS College is a good place for educational and social purposes and I am extremely glad for making it my choice this year.

As a GCE 'A' Level private candidate, extra help is definitely needed and appreciated, and MDIS College did not fail me.
The teachers were dedicated and more than happy to go the extra mile to organise extra classes for us to catch up or revise our lessons. At times, they even lent us a listening ear and gave us moral support as the academic journey took a toll on us.
I remember all my teachers challenging us to solve every question that came our way, thus training our minds to be sharper and more alert. They made us see how theory-based topics could be applied in real-life situations, making learning come alive.
The friendships that were cultivated during my stay are amazing. I believe this is due to the fact that we were all like-minded adults journeying as one united entity. MDIS College keeps the class size small, thus allowing us to interact closely with and understand our classmates. The laughter we shared and the support we gave each other are things I will always treasure.
Last but not least was the silent yet comforting presence of the MDIS College staff that supported us.
This is definitely a place that emphasises teaching excellence in a caring academic environment.

My time in MDIS College has been one of the turning points in my life. After my first year in a government school, I decided to enrol myself there to continue my A Level education.
Learning at MDIS College was not just confined to classrooms and textbooks. For example, we were given a chance to act out characters during Literature lessons and to give our own reviews. I enjoyed lessons tremendously and became more astute with all the critical thinking skills our teachers taught us. Teachers also had access to past year exam questions from other schools and that really made a difference in helping us overcome even the toughest of questions.
Our teachers never put a damper on our spirits; instead they gave us realistic guidance and professional advice not just on school but on personal matters like our future. They were very dedicated and personal in their approach. I have never had such a rapport with any of my previous teachers.
Famous writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." MDIS College may not be the most conventional way most students take to the 'A' Level, but it has certainly equipped me with the skills to create a path for myself to achieve my dreams.
