Withdrawal / Refund / Transfer & Deferment Policy


MDIS College Pte Ltd (MDIS College) collects course fees in installments. Fees are payable upon confirmation and acceptance of the place in the course before the course commencement. You may pay your fees by Cash, NETS, VISA, MasterCard, AMEX or by Cheque.

If payment is by cheque, please indicate the details of the course applied for on the back of the cheque, stating clearly your personal particulars and company name (if any). Unless otherwise stated, all fees are subject to prevailing GST.

1. Withdrawal Policy
 
Where a student withdraws from the Course, MDIS College shall, as soon as practicable after receiving the Student's written notice of withdrawal, refund the student. Only the paid course fees are refundable in the following instances:

Note:
Application fees are strictly non refundable.
 
A cooling-off period of seven (7) working days is applicable for a maximum refund from the date when the contract is signed.
  The above refund policy is also applicable to company-sponsored students.
  MDIS College will assess and reply to any request for withdrawal within a time frame of not more than four (4) weeks.
  All refunds shall be made within seven (7) working days following the approval to the Student's request of withdrawal.
 
a) Refunds for Withdrawal for Cause
  MDIS College shall inform the student immediately within three (3) working days if
 
1) It fails, for any reason, to commence the Course or any subject on the Course Commencement Date;
2) it terminates the Course or any subject offered, for any reason, prior to the Course Commencement Date.
3) It fails, for any reason, to complete theCourse or any subject offered by the Course Commencement Date.
4) It terminates the Course or any subject offered for any reason, prior to Course Commencement Date; or
5) the student’s pass application is rejected by Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA).
 
MDIS College shall, within seven (7) working days of notifying the student in writing of above circumstances (1) to (5), provide the student with information and details of the alternative confirmed course or subject arrangement to allow the student to make timely and appropriate decision on the alternative arrangement.
 
The student shall be entitled to immediately withdraw from the course by giving written notice to of his/her attention to do so.
 
For circumstances under the above Clause, MDIS College shall, within seven (7) working days after notifying the Student, refund to the Student:
 
1) The entire amount of the Course Fees; and
2) The Miscellaneous Fees.
b)
Request for course withdrawal must be made in writing. The student should write in to the Manager of MDIS College Pte Ltd to request for withdrawal from the course. All requests must be supported with documentary evidence. Withdrawal through the telephone will not be entertained.
c)
In the event that a company-sponsored student withdraws, the company is liable to pay any outstanding fees incurred.
d)
Full refund will be given in the event of non-approval of National Service deferment before course commencement and a pro-rated refund shall be given after course commencement.
e) In the event where a student is applying for a study loan, the application fees where applicable must be paid PRIOR to the application of the loan.
f)
An administrative fee of S$100 (subject to prevailing GST) will be levied on each late instalment payment.
g)
The discretion of approving a refund of fees outside the tabulated conditions under Refund Policy lies with the MDIS College Pte Ltd. The decision of the MDIS College Pte Ltd is final.
h)
All approved refunds shall be made within seven (7) days from the date of letter of approval sent to the student.
i)
For International students who withdraw from the accepted course, MDIS College shall duly notify the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) to cancel the approved student pass:
 
1) Immediately, when there is no refund.
2)
After the refund check is issued to the student, when there is a refund.
3) Before the student leaves the country.
2. Transfer Policy
 
If a student who has been accepted by MDIS College decides to transfer to another school/institute/university before or after course commencement, a written notice of transfer must be given to the Manager, MDIS College at MDIS Campus, 501 Stirling Road, Singapore 148951. This request shall be subject to the MDIS College Refund Policy.
 
a) Transfer out of MDIS College Pte Ltd to another school/institute/university
 
Students who request to transfer out of MDIS College to another school/institute/university shall be deemed as withdrawing from the Institute.
Before accepting such transfer/withdrawal requests, MDIS College shall ensure that the student has no outstanding fees payable to the MDIS College. If there is any outstanding fee, the student shall be advised to make payment before MDIS College processes.
b) Transfer within MDIS Pte Ltd but to a different course/downgrading of academic course(s)
 
Such requests must be submitted before commencement of classes or at a maximum, within 14 days after the date of commencement of classes.
MDIS College shall ensure that the student has no outstanding fees payable to the MDIS College before accepting such transfer requests. The student shall be advised to make payment of any outstanding fees before the MDIS College will process his/her transfer request.
If the request was received after commencement of class, the refund policy shall apply.
After completion of 14 days from the date of class commencement, no transfer requests shall be accepted. Students who insist on transferring will be processed as withdrawal and new enrolment respectively. The respective terms and conditions of the withdrawal policy shall then be applicable for both intakes.
All requests for transfer to a different course(s) within MDIS Pte Ltd/MDIS College Pte Ltd must be submitted in writing and supported with an application fee of S$250 (subject to prevailing GST).
Any excess course fees received from the student shall be refunded as per the policy.
MDIS College will assess and reply to any request for transfer within a time frame of not more than 4 weeks.
3. Deferment Policy
 
a)
All requests for deferment PRIOR to or AFTER commencement of course must be made in writing to the Manager of MDIS College Pte Ltd. Deferment through the telephone will not be entertained. All requests must be supported with documentary evidence.
b)
For students who are paying their course fees via installments, he/she has to first settle the pro-rated course fee for the duration they have attended. They will continue with their instalment payments when they resume their course within the allowed one-year deferment period.
c)
If student do not resume their course within the stipulated one-year deferment period, they shall be considered to have withdrawn from the course and the course fee payments shall be forfeited.
d)
In the event that students who deferment has been approved and withdraw from the subsequent/next intake, the refund policy will be applicable.
e)
Deferment of course/subject is allowed only ONCE up to the next available commencement date of the course. Deferment of course is allowed only ONCE up to a MAXIMUM PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR, failing which the applicant will be deemed as having withdrawn from the course.
f)
International students who are approved for deferment, College will cancel his/her student pass(s) as required by ICA.
g)
Approval for deferment is at the sole discretion of the MDIS College Pte Ltd. The decision of the MDIS College Pte Ltd is final.
4. Expulsion and Disciplinary Matters
 
The refund policy shall apply for students who are expelled by the College for poor attendance and ill-discipline.
